SkeleCore™ - Cylindrical Tensioning Device
SkeleCore is the latest product innovation from DuctSox!
DuctSox has found the solution to fabric duct droop! While in the deflated mode, SkeleCore maximizes the open shape and does not deflate. This allows for smoother and quieter inflation upon equipment start up and gives an increased aesthetic appearance when deflated.
SkeleCore is a Cylindrical Tensioning Device (CTD) for fabric ductwork systems that:
- Keeps fabric ductwork taut and fully round even in the deflated mode.
- Improves aesthetics and minimizes fabric wrinkling.
- Prevents inflation “pop” at start up.
- Extends fabric life by minimizing wear and tear on fabric and attachment points.
- Easily retrofitted to existing suspension systems.
- Requires less installation time for two row hanging systems and slides easily into the DuctSox System.
- You get all the benefits of a fabric duct system, such as significant cost savings in materials and labor versus a metal duct and diffuser system.
Features/Options
Sizes: 8” minimum, 2” increments up to 36”
Suspension: A cable or track suspension system is required. Vertical drops at zipper connections attach to the suspension system.
Aesthetics: In addition to the general improved aesthetic appearance (fully round and taut), SkeleCore has the best looking endcaps in the industry! The endcaps are flat and have a much better looking appearance than traditional endcaps.
Material/Weight: SkeleCore is made up of a lightweight metallic ring and tubing system.
Friction Loss: Independent studies confirm that friction loss is minimal.
Installation: Because SkeleCore utilizes a single cable (or track), fewer knee braces are needed reducing material and labor costs.

Compare inflated/deflated shapes of common fabric suspension systems.
SkeleCore vs. Other Non-Tensioning Systems
While other companies claim zero deflation, that may only be true at the suspension points. It is not true between the suspension points. SkeleCore reduces the sag between the hangers so that there is very little, if any, sag whatsoever. The fabric is put into tension along its length by SkeleCore’s rings at the end of each section. SkeleCore’s rings are a complete circle and support the fabric from collapsing into the interior. Other systems have half-circle rings (and sometimes even more than 180 degrees), but the rings do not hold the fabric in tension causing the fabric to sag.
